Elmira Corning airport usage rises Posted: 19 Jul 2010 03:41 PM PDT Passenger traffic was up year over year in June at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport, with 10,496 departures compared to 9,591 a year ago. Delta-Northwest Airlines reported 4,988 departures compared to 4,113 in June 2009. However, the number of departures was down from May when 5,140 passengers boarded Delta-Northwest planes. Arrivals for Delta-Northwest in June was 5,017 compared to 4,894 in May and 4,298 in June 2009, according to the airport's monthly activity report. Meanwhile, USAirways had 4,273 passenger departures in June compared to 4,291 in May and 4,404 in June 2009. The airline has reduced its number of available seats. USAirways' passenger arrivals totaled 4,444 in June compared with 4,543 in May and 4,490 in June 2009. Allegiant Air had 1,114 passenger departures in June compared with 1,287 in May and 974 in June 2009. Allegiant's passenger arrivals totaled 1,143 in June compared with 1,287 in May and 1,095 in June 2009.
